Gemma Wheatley recently celebrated her 20 year anniversary at SCP. Gemma joined SCP in 2003 as a Graduate Transport Planner and has successfully climbed the ranks through the years where she now holds the title of Senior Associate Director.
Gemma has a wide range of experience in transport planning; ranging from small housing sites up to regionally significant Energy Schemes. She has been involved in all aspects of transport planning including; input to masterplans, junction modelling, junction design, public consultation, preparation of Transport Assessments & Travel Plans, negotiating with Highway Authorities and discharge of transport related planning conditions. Gemma also has comprehensive knowledge of transport modelling software including PICADY, ARCADY, LinSig, Vissim, TRANSYT and Saturn.
Playing a key role in the company, Gemma has not only positively shaped a multitude of projects but also the culture and structure of the workplace.
In her career, Gemma has also been involved in many memberships with institutions, and is currently an active member of the Institute of Highways & Transportation, the Institute of Leadership and Women in Property North West.
As we celebrate Gemma’s milestone achievement of 20 years, we’re reminded of the other 10% of SCP’s staff that have been with SCP for 10 years or more. David Roberts, Managing Director for Transport Planning has been here from the start, 31 years this year and Jim Budd who has completed 27 years of service. Other notable long term services include Steven Carmody, Managing Director of Infrastructure Design, Lisa Dennis, Pete Todd, Denise De-Gier, Paul Turton, and Liam Bessell.
It’s very reassuring that the culture at SCP has led to so many staff committing significant periods of their career to the business; but we can never be complacent and appreciate the need to evolve to demonstrate our commitment to looking after our staff and getting the best that we can from everyone, which in turn provides the highest level of service to our clients.
Congratulations and thank you to you all for your commitment to the company.
We have a continually growing workload and if you’re interested in joining SCP’s established team, please do get in touch.
