It’s National Apprenticeship Week and we wanted to take this chance to celebrate the apprentices here at SCP and take a look back on the amazing work they’ve done.
SCP have been supporting apprentices for many years and we take great pride in doing so, ensuring they are equipped with all the tools to achieve and exceed their personal goals.
This last 12 months have been challenging for all as we’ve been required to work from home, especially for our apprentices who require more assistance while learning. Our apprentice mentors have been diligent with daily virtual meetings to be able to provide the support need, and of course are always there to pick up on any burning questions.
Will, one of our apprentice Junior Technicians in the Leeds team, joined SCP in 2018. Will is currently studying part time for his Degree in Civil Engineering at Leeds Beckett University after completing his Level 3 at Leeds College of Building. Through SCP’s supported Will has gained extensive industry experience, working on a range of schemes including retail and residential developments.
Will has said “I enjoy being able to work in civil engineering while working towards my degree, it’s great to have the others in my team who are there any time I have questions as I’ve learned a lot more than I could in the classroom. SCP’s support has got me this far and hopefully in a few more years I’ll have my degree and I’ll be working towards my professional qualification and managing my own projects.”
SCP are so proud of our graduates, and our current apprentices such as Will. If you’d like to know more about the apprentice positions at SCP do get in touch today.
