We are delighted to hear that planning permission for our client Persimmon Homes (Lancs) Ltd has been granted for up to 261 dwellings, following evidence provided by our Associate Director Mark Devenish at a Public Inquiry for a site on Brindle Road, Bamber Bridge, Lancs.
The key issue raised was the impact the development would have at a junction adjacent to a nearby level crossing and whether this should be signalised as part of the proposed development.
SCP supported the appeal and informed the Inspector that the signalisation of the junction was not necessary to make the development acceptable, by demonstrating that the impact of the development would not be severe.
The Inspector agreed with our evidence and allowed the appeal, with no requirement for traffic signals and significant cost savings for our client.
The appeal decision follows our previous involvement in representing Persimmon as a third party on the neighbouring site at appeal in August 2018. We provided evidence on highways matters to ensure a coordinated approach to the cumulative impact of both appeals, which has secured this substantial permission.
