Planning Approved for Residential Development at former Merseyside Dockers Club


SCP are pleased to see yet another planning application approved. The former Merseyside Dockers Club, a sports and social club, had been derelict for the past decade has now won approval to become 232 new dwellings, including houses and apartments.

SCP supported Persimmon Homes’ application by preparing a Transport Assessment and Travel Plan which involved negotiations on the treatment of an existing poor quality Public Right of Way, a suitable emergency access and amendments to the access arrangement and carriageway alignment in the vicinity of the site.

SCP have also prepared the detailed highway design for the main access junction, which includes the provision of a new footway/cycleway through reduction of the carriageway to one lane on Townsend Lane. The approved plans ensure a pedestrian and cycle friendly scheme providing increased permeability to local facilities and public transport routes, not only for the new residents but for existing residents too.
