SCP Achieves Two Exciting New Appointments

"

SCP are pleased to announce two recent appointments: for Hull City Council and Wyre Borough Council. This is an exciting achievement for our company, as our recent growth has allowed SCP to undertake a wider variety of transport related projects for both public and private sector clients.

Hull City Council appointed SCP in May 2024 as its partner in the production of the Council’s Local Transport Plan (LTP) 4. Local Transport Plans are now the cornerstone of the dialogue between local and central government on local transport funding and investment strategy. SCP will produce the draft LTP4 which will comprise building a comprehensive evidence base and policy context, developing LTP objectives reflecting the wider policy objectives of the Council and, identification of specific transport constraints and challenges associated with Decarbonisation, Growth, Inclusivity and Sustainable Mobility. Following a range of Stakeholder engagement sessions with key consultees across the city, SCP will identify high level schemes for short, medium and long-term delivery. The Draft LTP4 will be produced for October 2024.

Wyre Borough Council has appointed SCP as its consultant partner in the development of an updated transport and highways evidence base to support its Emerging Local Plan (2022-2040). The emerging plan will set out planning policies that will guide the future pattern of development and investment in the borough for the next 15 to 20 years and will allocate additional sites for residential and employment development. SCP will work with the Council to build an evidence base that will help the public and interested parties understand the transport implications of the Plan. SCP will also support the Council in its engagement with stakeholders including Lancashire County Council, National Highways and neighbouring authorities to ensure that the evidence base is robust and widely supported.

“These are two great projects for the company and will allow us to work in partnership with both Hull and Wyre. Recent staff appointments have enabled SCP to bid for a great variety of work which will allow the company to grow in line with the 5 year business plan.”
