Directors are like buses, you wait around for one and then two show up at once!
So, following the appointment of Simon Pratt to lead our Leeds Transport Planning team, we are delighted to announce that Bob Pinkett joined SCP earlier this year as Project Director. Bob has picked up the Public Transport lead role from David Young and our established Public Transport team are all aboard for existing and new commissions.
With 40 years of experience, having led the Hampshire passenger transport team in the late 90s, followed by more than twenty years leading public transport teams in consultancy, Bob boasts an extensive career in Public Transport specialising in bus operations and infrastructure, transport policy and procurement. Bob retains an active, non-executive director role at Blackpool Transport Services, Reading Buses and Transport Connect while conducting SCP’s Public Transport offer and continuing to build on the groundwork laid by Dave Young.
For those who are as uptodate with public transport celebrities as their nearest Real-Time Information board, Bob is to buses what #FrancisBourgeois is to trains; what he doesn’t know isn’t worth knowing!
David Roberts, Managing Director of Transport Planning at SCP said “Bob is an excellent addition to the SCP team. We have been providing and continually developing our Public Transport service to our clients over the last 7 years, and now look to boost this with the wide level of experience and knowledge that Bob can bring to the team. The sharing of his experience and knowledge is already reaping rewards for our clients and our Transport Planning team.”
Upon becoming a part of the team Bob shared “I’m pleased to join SCP and their existing Transport Planning team and I look forward to watching the team develop and broaden the Public Transport offer.” And added “Our role is helping public and private sector clients navigate their way through challenging times for councils and the bus and rail industries. This focuses on the loss of passengers post covid, significant financial pressures and structural changes in the industry.”
It’s not standing room only yet, so whether you’re a local authority, service provider, land developer or planning consultancy, SCP can assist you. Get in touch today with any Public Transport challenges you may face and we are sure you’ll find that we are just the ticket.
