SCP are pleased to welcome Matthew Grace to the team. Matthew joined SCP’s Leeds Infrastructure Design team earlier this month, and he has been a welcome addition to increase the team’s capabilities as the workloads and client base continually increases.
Matthew recently graduated from Leeds Beckett University with a first-class Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, with a specific interest in highway design.
After his first week, Matthew said, “The final project of my degree was to design a proposed development site, and it was great to see how my coursework and degree modules align so closely with my experiences in the team so far.”
A month into joining SCP Matthew has commented “The SCP team have provided all the support and information needed to provide me a smooth transition into the working world.” Matthew also added, “I look forward to becoming a valuable member of the SCP Leeds team and developing my skills further from the experienced team, the multitude of ongoing projects and online training that SCP provide.”
Steven Carmody SCP Infrastructure Director says, “I was taken aback when speaking to Matthew, as he told me I worked with/for his father when I first started as a graduate myself some 25 years ago. I noted how times have changed as we worked in a portacabin at the back of what was an old house in Chapel Allerton/ Chapel Town. This is a great opportunity to show the family business of SCP and work with the next generation of Civil Engineers.”
The Infrastructure Design team is an integral part of business here at SCP and we are pleased to welcome well-rounded individuals like Matthew.
