Site approval at Luxury Holiday Let in Conwy

SCP are pleased to see the proposed luxury Holiday Let in Conwy has been approved. The 140-year-old former school, which has been vacant for a number of years, will be converted into a two-bedroom holiday accommodation following the approved planning permission granted by the Conwy County Council.

One of the primary concerns for the site was the access and parking as there has been no dedicated car parking provision for this site. Previously, staff and visitors to the school relied on on-street parking.

Due to the change of use of the building The Council requires 1 parking space per bedroom of the property, in this case, that’s 2 parking spaces.

SCP was instructed by Sir Richard Williams Bulkeley, of the Baron Hill Estate, to provide access and car parking advice in connection with the proposals. Through thorough analysis detailed in a technical note and site design, SCP’s Transport Planning Team were able to demonstrate that the holiday let proposal can satisfactorily accommodate the car parking needs, as required by the Council’s parking standards.

The Estate has plans to invest £180,000 in upgrading the property and has promised substantial building contracts with local businesses.
