Transport Planning Apprentice Anna Thompson


We’ve welcomed Anna Thompson to the Leeds office. Anna joined SCP in early September as an apprentice Transport Planner and is currently studying the level 6 Transport Planning BSc Degree Apprenticeship at Aston University, this allows her to learn on the job gaining crucial industry experience to enable her to excel in her course.

Anna came to SCP right after her sixth-form studies where she was studying Geography, Economics and Physics. Recently Anna was awarded the Geography Progress Prize because of her outstanding achievement in the subject.

Simon Pratt, Director at SCP and Anna’s Line Manager said “Since joining SCP I have had the privilege of working with Anna and she’s shown a true willingness to learn anything and everything she can about the industry. Her fresh perspective and key communication skills have been greatly welcomed within the team.”

Before joining SCP Anna was asked about skills she’s like to improve, Anna responded “I would like to develop my capability to build relationships and my ability to work within an office environment. While working at SCP I believe I will improve skills such as my adaptability and flexibility within changing environments.”

Three months into the apprenticeship Anna said “I am enjoying working at SCP as I have learnt a lot already and everyone has been very welcoming. I am excited about the future and my career as a Transport Planner. I have already gotten stuck in and attended a few networking events which have already provided me with valuable relationships within the industry.”

SCP are committed to development and training, providing apprentices with a wide range of experience and training that will equip them with key knowledge and skills both in and out of the workplace.
