Walking All Over Cancer – a Thanks from Jim Budd

Thank you to everyone who sponsored me during March! You managed to help me raise over £3,270 for Cancer Research UK in my ‘walk all over cancer’ campaign while I walked more than 10,000 steps a day in memory of my late niece Katie who lost her battle with cancer at only 6 and a half in 1999.

I was blown away by the support I received and more than doubled my initial £1,500 target. In the end, my trusty golden retriever, Candy, and I walked over 401,000 steps (about 200 miles).

Jim Budd - Cancer Research fundraising

As well as receiving donations from friends and relatives, many people that I have worked with over the years were inspired by the cause and were touched by my testimony to my extraordinary niece Katie. I was equally touched by the many stories I received in return from those who had been similarly affected by this cruel disease.

There are a few I can’t name here (though I will be thanking them separately), but my personal thanks go out especially to Chris at One Design, Lesley at Miller Goodall, Nik at Maple Grove, Will at Whittam Cox, Debbie at Smith Love, Richard B and Richard C at Lea Hough & Co., Chris at PlanA and Gemma and Emily at Avison Young. Thank you so much.
